Romania will provide Moldova with its expertise on the transposition of EU VAT legislation into national legislation.
The Ministry of Finance announced this, noting that a group of representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the State Tax Service participating in the process of harmonization of the national regulatory framework will adopt the experience of Romania in the process of transferring EU legislation regarding VAT. Over the course of 3 weeks, Senior Advisor to the Directorate of Tax Legislation, Customs and Accounting Regulation of the Romanian Ministry of Public Finance, Adriana Nuțu, will provide her expertise on the stages of transposition of EU legislation, as well as conduct a series of discussions with officials from the Ministry of Finance and the State Tax Service. The examination will include an analysis of the rules of the EU Directive on the common VAT system in terms of the mandatory nature or advisability of their transfer to national legislation, including based on the experience of Romania. Adriana Nuțu's mission began on September 11 at the Ministry of Finance, where she met with the head of the department, Veronica Sireteanu, the director of the State Tax Service, Petru Rotaru, and the High Councilor of the EU, Rosario de Blasio. “This review is important for us, including in terms of reviewing all the national transposition measures that we are going to take in relation to VAT, and not only those related to legislation, but also measures to inform the public about what will change in this aspect,” noted Veronica Sireteanu. According to her, this activity is part of the Cooperation Agreement and Cooperation Plan between the Ministry of Finance of Moldova and the Ministry of Public Finance of Romania. //12.09.2023 – InfoMarket.
