
In 2022, the net nominal salary per employee in Moldova was 8899.6 lei, or 16.6% more than in the previous year.
These are the results of the annual survey of the National Bureau of Statistics "Labor costs in 2022". It is noted that the nominal accrued wages of one employee (gross) amounted to 10,447.3 lei, which is 16.3% more than in the previous year. Taxes and mandatory payroll taxes (contributions to the state social insurance budget and the mandatory medical insurance fund) amounted to 14.8% of the total gross income from wages, having decreased by 0.2 percentage points compared to 2021. At the same time, in the public sector, the gross salary was 8891.1 lei, and in the real sector - by 23.2% higher - 10 954.7 lei. At state-owned enterprises, the average salary was 10,118.5 lei per month, at enterprises of another form of ownership - 10,677.8 lei. It is noted that salaries at large enterprises in the real sector are about 1.8 times higher than at SMEs. Thus, in enterprises with 250 or more employees, salaries amounted to 13,156.5 lei, and in companies with 1-9 employees - 7,378.1 lei. The highest salaries last year were received by employees of the ICT industry 27,775.8 lei (2.7 times more than the national average), employees of the financial and insurance industry - 19,795.9 lei (89.5% more than the national average), employees of enterprises producing and supplying electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning - 15,311.8 lei (46.6% more than the national average). The lowest salaries in 2022 were registered in the field of HoReCa - 6320.5 lei (-39.5%), in agriculture, forestry and fish farming - 6700.7 lei (-35.9%), in the field of art, recreation and entertainment - 7310.1 lei (-30%). Herewith, during the year, wages increased in all sectors of the economy (growth ranged from 5.6% to 25.7%). In the public sector the average wages of women last year were 15.5% lower than those of men. This difference is more pronounced in the ICT industry, where the difference in men's salaries is 38.1% higher than that of women, as well as in finance and insurance (32.5%), in healthcare and social security (22.4%). Meanwhile, women received more than men in the field of administrative activities and support services (5.7%), in the education system (4.3%), and in other services (3.6%). The monthly salary in Chisinau last year was 22.8% higher than the national average. The lowest average wages were registered in the Briceni region - 6811 lei (34.8% less than the national average), the Ocnita region - 7142.9 (31.6% less), the Donduseni region - 7246.5 lei (by 30.6% less). Last year, about 87% of employees received regular monthly payments, about 8.1% of employees received for unworked time, for example, vacation, 4.5% received irregular payments to salaries (allowances, bonuses, etc.). About 0.4% of workers were paid in kind.
