In Moldova, the number of taxpayers decreased by almost 30% over the year.
According to the State Tax Service, at the end of the first half of 2023, 202.6 thousand taxpayers were registered in the state register. This is almost 29.9% less than at the end of June 2022 (289.4 thousand taxpayers) and 30.5% less than at the end of June 2021 (291.38 thousand). The State Tax Service explains the decrease in the number of taxpayers by the fact that inactive enterprises, including inactive peasant farms, have been excluded from the state register. Thus, over the year the number of peasant farms in the state register decreased from 111.4 thousand to 23.4 thousand, or by 4.7 times. And the share of peasant farms in the total structure of taxpayers decreased from 38.5% to 11.6% over the year. At the same time, most of the taxpayers (about 53%) are registered as limited liability companies: their number reached 108.8 thousand, having increased by 3.3% over the year. In addition, at the end of June 2023, in Moldova operated 29.8 thousand individual enterprises (-8% compared to June 2022), 14.6 thousand public associations (+2.3%), 3.79 thousand persons engaged in professional activities (-1.1%), 2.14 thousand individuals with independent entrepreneurial activity (+13%), as well as almost 22 thousand taxpayers registered in another form (-1.1%). // 17.08.2023 — InfoMarket.
