Government to provide 74 settlements from six districts affected by bad weather with construction materials worth over 16.3 million lei
The relevant decision was taken by the Commission for Emergency Situations and approved at a government meeting on Friday. In particular, 64677 sheets of corrugated sheeting for roofing, as well as 493.2 cubic meters of lumber, worth 16 million 317.8 thousand lei, will be allocated from the state reserve for the liquidation of the consequences of the July 25-26 bad weather in these settlements. Prime Minister Dorin Recean called on the local authorities to mobilize and show responsibility in order to carry out all the repair works and remove the damages as soon as possible. The materials issued by the Material Reserves Agency under the Interior Ministry will be handed over to the local public authorities from Edinet, Soroca, Riscani, Donduseni, Drochia and Hincesti districts, in order to carry out repair and construction works in residential houses, administrative and socio-cultural buildings that suffered from heavy rains and strong wind gusts.
