The Ministry of Agriculture of Moldova is developing a mechanism for subsidizing fertilizers used by farmers in the fall of 2022, and will also distribute between them 4,000 tons of diesel fuel donated by Romania.
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea during a meeting with representatives of local authorities and farmers of the Telenesti district. The main topics discussed were farmers' investments and financial opportunities provided from the state budget. The minister informed the farmers that last week the government adopted 3 resolutions on subsidies and 2 more should be approved in the near future. In addition, he noted that the agricultural department is developing a mechanism for subsidizing fertilizers used by farmers last fall. “The diesel fuel donated by Romania in the amount of 4,000 tons will also help farmers. It will be distributed mainly among micro and small farmers whose land was affected by the drought last year,” said Vladimir Bolea. As noted, in 2022, about 156 million lei were invested in Telenesti district in various areas of agriculture. Most grant applications are submitted to AIPA for the purchase of tractors, combines and other equipment needed for tillage.
