The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported this, noting that last May annual inflation in Moldova reached 29.05%. At the same time, in May, the average consumer prices for foodstuffs rose by 13.97%, for non-foodstuffs - by 8.23% and for services provided to the population - by 33.27% compared to May, 2023. As noted by the NBS, as a result of the slower growth of monthly inflation in May of this year (0.45%) compared to the monthly inflation rate in May 2022 (2.04%), the annual inflation rate in May 2023 (16.26%) decreased by 1.84 p.p., compared to the annual inflation in April 2023 (18.1%).
