Moldova will receive a new package of financial aid exceeding 100 million euros - Emmanuel Macron.

"We have decided to allocate Moldova more than 100 million euros to overcome the consequences of the war in Ukraine, including the energy crisis, to resolve issues related to refugees, to ensure their access to education, food, heating," he said. It is planned that 10 million euros of the aforementioned aid package will be sent by the end of 2022 in grants to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the World Food Program and UNICEF. It is also expected that in the first months of 2023, powerful generators will be delivered to equip Moldovan hospitals, and a package of 2 million euros will be mobilized through the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to support state reforms, especially in the energy sector. Emmanuel Macron stressed that for Moldova, the war in Ukraine has been a major source of destabilization. The country has faced an unprecedented influx of refugees and has shown remarkable solidarity in accepting them. Moldova also faces enormous economic and energy challenges and sees its security threatened. Macron said EU countries must help Moldova with energy supplies.
