Representatives of Norwegian and British companies involved in the audit of the historical debt of the Moldovagaz company arrived in Chisinau on a visit.
In particular, the teams of auditors Wikborg Rein Advokatfirma AS (Norway) and Forensic Risk Alliance & Co (Great Britain) which signed a contract with the Public Property Agency on an independent financial and legal audit of Moldovagaz's debt to Gazprom and Factoring-Finance" for gas supplied to consumers on the right bank of the Dniester arrived on a working visit. It is planned that experts will study the financial documents and agreements concluded over the years by Moldova with the Russian side, including the period before the creation of the Moldovagaz company, in order to understand how the historical debt of the right bank of the Dniester for gas purchased in Russia was formed. The audit mission will be in Moldova until Friday, October 21st. It is expected that before the end of the year both companies will submit the first report, depending on the availability of all materials. As InfoMarket agency reported earlier, the Norwegian Wikborg Rein Advokatfirma AS and the British Forensic Risk Alliance & Co will receive over 15.74 million lei for the services of an independent audit of the historical debt of Moldovagaz to Gazprom and Factoring Finance. Both companies committed to carry out this audit by January 30, 2023. The contract with these companies was concluded following direct negotiations conducted by order of the Commission for Emergency Situations of July 13, 2022. The Moldovan authorities stated that they wanted to select an audit company that would establish only the exact amount of the historical debt "Moldovagaz" to the companies "Gazprom" and "Factoring Finance" for natural gas supplied to consumers on the right bank of the Dniester, but also found out the factors behind the formation of this debt. Moldovan authorities and Gazprom previously agreed to audit this historic debt and then sign an agreement to settle this debt.
