
Currency reserves of the National Bank of Moldova in April 2022, compared to the previous month, decreased by $87.48 million (-2.5%), amounting to $3 billion 334.95 million.
According to the report of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), in particular, the following factors contributed to the decrease of the official reserve assets of the NBM in the reporting period: the decrease of the exchange rates of the currencies included in the foreign currency reserves against the U.S. dollar: $52.83 million; net payments related to the required reserves of licensed banks in foreign currencies: $20.84 million; payments related to servicing external public debt: $14.88 million; implementation of net currency swaps in the domestic foreign exchange market: $9.9 million (the equivalent of 9 million euros); net interventions in the domestic foreign exchange market in the form of currency sales: $0.05 million; payments of the Ministry of Finance: $5.65 million; revaluation of securities of the investment portfolio: $0.88 million. At the same time, the following factors contributed to the increase in official reserve assets in the reporting period: receipt by the Ministry of Finance of loans and grants for investment projects in the amount of: $12.62 million; net proceeds to the Office of Foreign Assistance Programs Management: $1.6 million; profit from foreign exchange reserves management: $1.1 million; other net proceeds: $2.23 million // 10.05.2022 - InfoMarket.
