In Moldova, the period for the international transit of goods to the border with Ukraine can be extended beyond the agreed 8-day deadline.
This was announced by the Customs Service, noting that, in accordance with the decision adopted by the Commission for Emergency Situations, during the state of emergency, the period of international transit, originally provided for the transportation of goods through the territory of Moldova to the checkpoints across the state border with Ukraine, may be extended beyond limit of 8 days provided by the current customs regulations. To do this, the carrier or its representative must contact the nearest customs post and ask for an extension of the transit period. The application form is available at this link: https://www.legis.md/search/getResults?doc_id=44245&lang=en. At the same time, in case of exceeding the initially provided transit period, in accordance with the provisions of the said resolution, sanctions will not be applied to the carrier. Thus, in the context of a serious aggravation of the security situation on the territory of Ukraine, the Customs Service of Moldova recommends that carriers use the available transit corridors in compliance with the special conditions announced by each state. // 01.03.2022 — InfoMarket
