The 2022 fiscal policy approved by the Moldovan government is prudent - Natalia Gavrilita.
Prime Minister stated this, noting that after the approval of the budget by the parliament, the development of relevant policies for 2023 will begin, which will already provide for more changes than the current package of documents. Referring to the fiscal policy for the next year, the head of government said that it is prudent, and the Cabinet deliberately kept the existing rates and ensured predictability for economic agents. “We believe that any major change should be discussed with all stakeholders and discussed as part of the normal, regular budget planning cycle. Therefore, immediately after the approval of the 2022 budget, we will begin work on the fiscal policy for 2023, and there we will discuss many of the proposals that are in the government's program and have been received from various entities. Among other things, we will talk about the inclusion of a new chapter on small and medium-sized enterprises in the Tax Code or certain actions to ensure the financial autonomy of local public administration bodies,” said Natalia Gavrilita. She noted that fiscal policy for the next year provides for an increase in family incomes and some of the actions already discussed earlier were included in the Association Agreement with the EU or other international agreements. In particular, the matter concerns increasing the amount of personal exemptions for individuals from 25,200 to 27,000 lei and doubling the amount of exemption for dependents (children) from 4,500 to 9,000 lei. “Thus, more money will remain in the family. In addition, all 100% of the road tax revenue will go to local budgets, starting from the next year. This will ensure a doubling of resources for mayoralties for road repairs from 434 million to 868 million lei. Also, the currently levied 2.5% charge for mobile services, which from the next year was supposed to be 1.5%, will be canceled. Mobile communications are not a luxury item, and this levy does not fit into regular tax guidelines. We hope that the elimination of this duty will compensate operators for possible losses from the exclusion of roaming tariffs. We are currently in discussions with Romania, the Eastern Partnership countries, and the EU on the elimination of roaming tariffs. We very much hope that after the end of the political crisis in Bucharest, we will be able to move forward on canceling roaming with Romania. At the same time, the revision of excise taxes on some tobacco products is carried out in order to unify them and fulfill the provisions of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement,” said the head of government. //22.11.2021 - InfoMarket.
