The Moldovan government approved a draft law on compensation of expenses for gas and heat energy consumption during the cold season.
In particular, the Cabinet of Ministers gave a positive opinion on the relevant document, which was developed by the deputy from PAS Dan Perciun in order to support household consumers in the cold season (November 2021 - March 2022) by compensating for the difference after the increase in tariffs for natural gas / heat consumption. It was agreed that compensation for the difference after the increase in tariffs for natural gas consumption for each household consumer will be: for the first consumed 50 cubic meters: 67% difference after the increase in tariffs for natural gas consumption; for the next consumed 100 cubic meters: 50% difference after the increase in tariffs for natural gas consumption. Compensation is also provided for the difference after the increase in the tariff for heat consumption by residential consumers for the cold period of the year (November 2021 - March 2022) in the amount of 67% of the amount of the difference between the price in the calculated month and the previous price in October 2021 for the first consumed gigacalorie per family. Compensation for the difference after the increase in tariffs for the consumption of natural gas and heat will be provided during the cold period of the year with the transfer of funds to the settlement account of the suppliers of natural gas and heat, who will monthly calculate the amount of compensation for the difference after the increase in tariffs for gas and heat consumption for each household consumer. Invoices issued to residential consumers will separately indicate the total amount for services rendered, the amount of the difference after the increase in tariffs for natural gas and heat consumption, allocated from the state budget, and the amount payable by each of the residential consumers after recalculation. The government stated that, given the situation caused by the increase in prices in the natural gas markets both nationally and internationally, as well as in the context of the increase in heat tariffs, the government should take the necessary measures to support domestic consumers of natural gas / heat, and therefore the Cabinet of Ministers supports the draft law on compensation of expenses for gas and heat energy consumption in the cold season with a number of editorial amendments. It is planned that 746 thousand household consumers will receive compensations for gas, and 220 thousand consumers connected to the central heating system in Chisinau and Balti for heat. In general, over 1 billion lei will be required to pay compensation in the cold period of 2021-2022. At the same time, 210 million lei have already been provided for in the course of adjusting the state budget for 2021, and 900 million lei will be included in the draft Law on the State Budget for 2022.// 17.11.2021 — InfoMarket
