The notebook of tasks for an independent audit of the historical debt of Moldovagaz to Gazprom and Factoring-Finance (Факторинг-Финанс) for the gas supplied to the right bank of the Dniester will be elaborated jointly by the government of the Republic of Moldova and Gazprom.

Chairman of the Board of Moldovagaz Vadim Ceban stated this while speaking on the air of the TV8 channel. According to him, it is obvious that, first of all, during the audit, not only reconciliation acts and documents stating the existence of debts for natural gas will be checked, but also there will be analyzed the factors that led to the formation of these debts. “I do not see any problems if all the factors that led to the accumulation of these debts were checked,” noted Vadim Ceban. Referring to the formation of historical debts of Moldovagaz to Gazprom and Factoring-Finance for the gas supplied to the right bank of the Dniester, he explained that household consumers paid for the gas they consumed, but since heat tariffs were not adjusted in a timely manner, debts were formed for the gas consumed by the enterprises of the energy complex. The Chairman of the Board of Moldovagaz also drew attention to the fact that during the recent negotiations in St. Petersburg, the shareholders of Moldovagaz and Gazprom, for the first time raised and seriously discussed the problems that have existed for many years, the problems in the joint venture’s functioning, and agreed on a Roadmap for their solution. “It is important not only that we signed documents to extend the gas supply contract and overcome the gas crisis, but it is also important that we discussed the whole range of problems in relations between shareholders, founders of Moldovagaz. The company has accumulated debts, it has negative net assets. And it is necessary to take measures, both on the part of Gazprom and on the part of the Moldovan government. And for the first time, the parties seriously discussed the problems and agreed on a Roadmap to resolve the debt problem, signed a long-term contract to ensure the stability of gas supplies, agreed to overcome the situation with negative net assets so that the company would not go bankrupt, agreed to conduct an independent audit of the debt and then sign an agreement on the settlement of the debt to Gazprom and Factoring Finance for the gas supplied to consumers on the right bank of the Dniester,” said Vadim Ceban. // 02.11.2021 – InfoMarket
