Moldovan government will continue to buy the country's missing gas volumes on the market until the problem with supplies from Gazprom is resolved.
Moldovan President, Maia Sandu, stated this while answering journalists’ questions after a meeting of the Supreme Security Council. She recalled that the government is in favor of signing a long-term gas supply contract with Gazprom and is trying to get it on good terms. However, since in October, despite the established market price, Gazprom did not supply the necessary volumes of gas to Moldova, the government was forced to start buying the missing volumes of gas from the market through the state-owned company Energocom. “In October, Gazprom supplies us with only two thirds of the required gas volumes. We have to buy the remaining volumes from others. If Gazprom supplied all the volumes of gas we need, especially since it is sold at market prices, then the government would not have to make these purchases from other sources. Meanwhile, we will continue to buy gas from alternative suppliers until the problem with gas supplies by Gazprom is resolved,” the head of state emphasized. // 29.10.2021 - InfoMarket
