
3,279 permits for the construction of residential and non-residential buildings were issued in Moldova for 9 months in 2021, which is 50.1% more than in the same period in 2020.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported this, noting that out of the total volume of issued permits, 2,442 (74.5% of the total) accounted for residential buildings, and 837 (25.5%) - for non-residential buildings. At the same time, the number of permits for the construction of residential buildings in January-September 2021, relative to the same period in 2020, increased by 62.2% and for the construction of non-residential buildings - by 23.3%. According to the NBS, for 9 months in 2021, 1,973 permits were issued for the construction of residential and non-residential buildings in cities of Moldova and 1,306 permits for construction in rural areas. At the same time, the number of issued building permits in cities for the specified period increased by 60.4%, and in rural areas - increased by 36.8%. In January-September 2021, most permits for the construction of residential buildings were traditionally issued in Chisinau - 1,418 against 657 units in the same period a year earlier (+761 units; up 2.2 times). In the North development region, the number of permits issued for the construction of residential buildings increased over the specified period from 199 to 224 units (+25 units, or + 12.6%), in the Center development region - increased from 365 to 510 units ( +145 units, or + 39.7%), in the South development region - increased from 116 to 141 units (+25 units, or + 21.6%), and in ATU Gagauzia - decreased from 169 to 149 units (-20 units, or - 11.8%). According to official statistics, the number of permits issued for the construction of non-residential premises in Chisinau for 9 months in 2021, versus the same period in 2020, increased from 139 to 123 units (+16 units, or + 13%), in the North development region - from 129 to 197 units (+68 units, or + 52.7%), Center - from 177 to 249 units (+72 units, or + 40.7%), in ATU Gagauzia - from 118 to 146 units (+28 units, or + 23.7 %).
