
The Council of Europe to support the reform of the Moldovan justice sector through a High-Level Working Group.
This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova, Nicu Popescu, following his meeting with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinović Burić, held as part of the participation in the high-level meeting at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The diplomats praised the dynamic nature of cooperation between Moldova and the Council of Europe. “We noted, in particular, the implementation of the Action Plan for 2021-2024, the constant support of the organization in the process of supporting democratic reforms and the implementation of Council of Europe standards in the field of democracy, the rule of law and respect for human rights in Moldova,” Nicu Popescu said. At the same time, he thanked CoE Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić for the openness of the Council of Europe and its institutions to support Moldova in reforming the justice sector through the High-Level Working Group, whose members will soon visit Chisinau.
