
Moldova: Industrial production volume in January-July 2021 increased by 13.6% compared to the same period in 2021.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported this, without giving data in value terms. According to the department, in July 2021, the volume of industrial production increased by 16.2%, compared to the same month of the previous year. In general, in January-July 2021, compared to the same period in 2020, production volumes in the extractive industry increased by 8.9%, and in the processing industry - by 12%. According to the NBS, food enterprises for 7 months in 2021, compared to the same period in 2020, reduced overall production by 9%. The production of beverages increased by 15.6%, textiles - by 34.6%, clothing - by 16.8%. Tanning and leather finishing; production of suitcases, bags, harness and saddlery; dressing and dyeing of fur increased by 30.8%, and wood processing and production of products from wood and cork, except for furniture; production of articles from straw and other plant materials for plaiting – increased by 54.9%. The production of paper and paper products increased by 16.4%, while the production of chemicals and chemical products decreased by 10.4%. The production of pharmaceutical products and drugs increased by 19.7%, while the production of rubber and plastic products increased by 14%. In the metallurgical industry, production increased by 55.4%. The output of metal structures and products, except for machinery, equipment and installations, increased by 25.7%, and the production of computers, electronic and optical products increased by 45.6%. The production of electrical equipment increased by 14.8%, machinery and equipment - by 23.1%, and cars, trailers and semi-trailers - decreased by 5.6%. Furniture production increased 2.1 times. In terms of repair, maintenance and installation of machinery and equipment, the growth was 38.8%. The growth in the production and supply of electric and thermal energy, gas, hot water was 22.7%.
