AmCham Moldova asks the Ministry of Finance to clarify some issues related to the application of accounting and taxation rules in the IT sector.

In a letter sent to the authorities, the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova asks the Ministry of Finance and other competent authorities to hold an online meeting with AmCham members to discuss ambiguities related to accounting and taxation rules in the information technology sector, both in terms of application policy and in terms of administration perspective. AmCham pointed out the duplication of information that residents of IT parks and other economic agents provide to the State Tax Service and the National Bureau of Statistics, and proposed to optimize some of the data requested by government agencies. Also, the organization noted an unequal approach to the possibilities of using a medical insurance policy. So, if persons who have purchased a policy in a fixed amount can use it and receive medical services and reimbursable drugs during a calendar year, then in the case of medical insurance by deducting contributions from salaries, insured persons lose the opportunity to use the policy immediately after the deductions stop. AmCham believes that it is necessary to analyze the possibility of adjusting the legislation so that persons who paid health insurance contributions receive equal opportunities to use the policy until the end of the calendar year, even if they have lost their insured status during the year. In addition, clarification is required on the following aspects: services provided to employees of IT-parks by their employer; amortization (depreciation) of assets; regulation of legal norms related to terminology.//12.07.2021 — InfoMarket.
