The Moldovan government will allocate the missing 22.46 million lei to the CEC for organizing and holding early parliamentary elections either before July 11, or immediately after the elections - Aureliu Ciocoi.
The Acting Prime Minister said that the decision on the allocation of these funds was planned to be taken at a meeting of the Cabinet on Wednesday, but it did not take place due to the lack of a quorum, and a new attempt to collect the Cabinet will be made on July 9. Aureliu Ciocoi assured the CEC, all employees involved in organizing and holding early parliamentary elections that the current government will do everything to transfer the missing funds to the CEC either before the elections or immediately after them. Today the Cabinet of Ministers planned to make a decision on the allocation of an additional 22 million 468 thousand lei to the CEC for the organization and conduct of early parliamentary elections. Earlier, the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Dorin Cimil, recalled that the state budget for 2021 did not include funds for organizing early parliamentary elections. And after setting the date for these elections, the CEC approved in May an approximate estimate of the costs of organizing and holding elections in the amount of 125 million 046.7 thousand lei. However, the government decided to allocate only 70 million lei for the elections from the Reserve Fund. Dorin Cimil said that another 22.4 million lei is needed for the elections. According to him, in this regard, the CEC asked the government to make an urgent decision on the allocation of the missing funds, since the available resources are insufficient. The balance of unallocated resources of the Reserve Fund as of June 23 was 42 million 480.1 thousand lei. // 07.07.2021 — InfoMarket
