Secretary of State of the Ministry of Finance Dorel Noroc and members of the American Chamber of Commerce of Moldova (AmCham) discussed issues of interest to the business community and priorities for future fiscal policy.
This was reported by the finance department, noting that, in particular, Dorel Noroс met with members of AmCham and during the dialogue the parties clarified some aspects of the application of tax rules and accounting rules. In addition, Ministry of Finance views were set out that will be a priority in the next fiscal policy process to ensure clear and fair tax legislation. Dorel Noroc expressed openness to the business environment in order to set priorities to ensure further effective cooperation. The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Finance also called on business representatives to actively participate in the development, examination and implementation of tax and customs regulations. During the discussions, the business community drew attention to general problems, as well as specific problems related to the banking sector, non-bank credit institutions, insurance, leasing, etc. In particular, they touched upon issues related to the clarification of aspects related to capital increase, the concept of "financial services" for the application of VAT, the procedure for recognizing income and expenses in the event of a transition to the new International Financial Reporting Standard. Dorel Noroc thanked the AmCham representatives for their work, as well as for their cooperation so far, noting that this cooperation is based on respect, professionalism and honesty. In her turn, AmCham Policy Manager Veronica Sireteanu highly appreciated the priorities of the Ministry of Finance, as well as the fact that the parties found a common denominator on most of the issues raised.
