The National Bureau of Statistics informed that, in particular, in April 2021 Moldova's trade deficit amounted to $342.9 million, which is $28.1 million (7.6%) less than in the previous month, but by $207.1 million (2.5 times) more than in April of the previous year. In general, in the first 4 months of 2021, relative to the same period in 2020, the trade deficit of Moldova with the EU countries increased 1.7 times - up to $423.5 million, with the CIS countries - increased by 22% - up to $345.3 million, and with other states - increased by 49.3% - to $440.4 million. According to the NBS, the largest trade deficit of Moldova in January-April 2021 was in trade with China: $232.6 million (+ 41.2% versus the same period in 2020).
