Moldova and the EBRD will sign an amendment to the loan agreement for the construction and repair of roads in the amount of 150 million euros for the redistribution of amounts within the tranches, according to updated estimates.
In particular, the parliamentary commission on foreign policy and European integration at its meeting on Wednesday approved the start of negotiations on amendment N2 to the Agreement on credit between Moldova and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for a project for the construction and rehabilitation of roads in the Republic of Moldova. According to the press service of the parliament, the document approved by the relevant commission is of a technical nature and was prepared by the EBRD at the request of the government to ensure the full implementation of the project, as well as to facilitate access to the funds necessary to finance the repair of the national road network and the construction of bypass roads in some communities. The amendments will contribute to the full implementation of the Road Rehabilitation in Moldova IV project, which will have economic benefits from improving the condition and quality of the national road network by reducing the cost of road transport for road users in Moldova, which will contribute to economic growth. The amendments to the agreement do not provide for the attraction of additional resources from the lender or changes in the terms of financing from the EBRD, but proposes the reallocation of amounts within the tranches according to the updated estimates.
