On May 23, the National Bank of Moldova will join the international “European Night of Museums” event for the third time

The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) invites the public to its museum to learn about the history of money, Moldova’s monetary heritage, and the role of the central bank in the country’s economic life. One of the main attractions will be a gold bar weighing over 12 kg, which visitors will be able to see during the tour. NBM experts will discuss the technologies used to produce and protect Moldovan banknotes, methods for verifying their authenticity, and the symbolism of the national currency. The exhibition will feature commemorative and anniversary coins, rare currency issues, archival materials, and other exhibits reflecting the development of the country’s monetary system. Visitors will have the opportunity to speak with NBM experts, ask questions, and learn little-known facts about money and the elements that help protect the national currency. Tours will be held on May 23 from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Participation is free, and no advance registration is required, but entry to the NBM will be permitted only upon presentation of a valid ID. The international event “European Night of Museums,” now in its 22nd year, is held under the patronage of UNESCO, the Council of Europe, and the International Council of Museums; it aims to expand public access to cultural and institutional heritage. // 18.05.2026 — InfoMarket.
