As reported to the InfoMarket agency by the National Bank of Moldova, the state’s debt to the IMF in January–December 2025, compared to the same period of the previous year, decreased by 9.8%—from €1.2629 billion (as of the end of 2024) to 1.1397 billion (as of the end of 2025), while the debt to the International Development Association (IDA), part of the World Bank Group, increased by 3.7%—from 759.3 million euros to 787.7 million euros, to the European Commission – rose by 82.1% – from €360 million to €655.5 million, to the European Investment Bank – increased by 3.6% – from €397.7 million to €411.9 million. Direct government debt to the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), part of the World Bank Group, increased by 18.7%—from €279.6 million to €331.8 million, to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development—decreased by 48.7%—from €420 million to €215.6 million, to the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)—decreased by 4.1%—from €71.3 million to €68.4 million, and to the Council of Europe Development Bank—decreased by 13.4%—from €58.3 million to €50.5 million. // 18.05.2026 — InfoMarket.
