The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) will support Moldova in implementing reforms in the business environment and SME development
This was discussed during a meeting between Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Eugen Osmochescu and Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Mathias Cormann at the Davos Economic Forum. The parties discussed Moldova's long-term cooperation with the OECD and support for reforms in the business environment and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, digitalization, the fight against corruption, justice, good governance, and public administration in accordance with international policies and standards. In light of Moldova's economic development commitments and EU accession negotiations, priority was given to expanding the portfolio of cooperation between Moldova and the OECD. The parties emphasized the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding and Action Plan between the Government of Moldova and the OECD as key instruments for the country's economic development and convergence with European standards. The interlocutors also discussed the impact of programs and initiatives such as the OECD Competitiveness Program in Eurasia, the Green Action Task Force, and the SME Policy Index, as well as progress in implementing the Action Plan, under which about 50% of projects have been financed and implemented. “We are determined to strengthen the country's sustainability and turn Moldova into an active player in the European and global economic arena,” said Eugen Osmochescu. // 21.01.2026 — InfoMarket
