The minimum wage in Moldova to increase from 5,500 to 6,300 lei per month as of January 1, 2026
Government adopted this decision at a meeting on Wednesday. The minimum wage set for 2026 will exceed this year's minimum wage by 14.5% and will be 2.1 times higher than the minimum wage in 2021, when it was 2,935 lei. The minimum wage for 2026 is set at 6,300 lei per month with an average monthly working time of 169 hours, which is 37.28 lei per hour. For employment of less than 40 hours per week, the minimum hourly wage is calculated by comparing the minimum monthly wage with the average number of hours per month, according to the work schedule approved by law. It should be noted that the minimum wage in the budgetary and real sectors was unified several years ago. From January 1, 2025, the minimum wage increased by 10% compared to last year and amounts to 5,500 lei. In 2024, the minimum wage was 5,000 lei, and in 2023, it was 4,000 lei. // 17.12.2025 — InfoMarket.
