Women entrepreneurs from Moldova will gain access to a unified digital financing platform - Finanțare.ai
The Secretariat of the Economic Council under Prime Minister announced this, noting that with the support of UN Women, it has developed the concept of Finanțare.ai, an innovative digital application that will provide women entrepreneurs with easy, fast, and transparent access to financing programs. The platform will work on both computers and mobile devices and will integrate three usage scenarios: interaction with an AI-based chatbot, advanced search with filters, and personalized recommendations based on analytics and scoring. This will allow users to select criteria such as age, field of activity, location, or type of desired investment, and the system will display only those programs for which they are eligible, including information on deadlines and application stages. "This digital platform will offer women entrepreneurs a simple and convenient tool that will quickly help them find real financing opportunities. We are monitoring the development process to ensure that the final solution accurately meets their needs and reduces bureaucratic barriers," said Cristina Tîșcul, gender equality expert at the Economic Council Secretariat. According to her, the innovation will solve a serious problem: although women make up about 52% of Moldova's population, only 33% of businesses are owned by women. One of the reasons is the lack of access to clear and centralized information on financing. Currently, information about programs is scattered across different channels, and the selection criteria vary and are difficult to track. "Women entrepreneurs often read about grants in the press, but later discover that they are only available in certain areas or for certain groups. A platform with clear filters showing where exactly you are eligible and for what would make the process much more efficient and transparent," emphasized Aliona Butacova, founder of the Hill&Valley agritourism resort in Orhei. This topic is also included in the Roadmap on Women's Economic Empowerment elaborated by the Secretariat of the Economic Council to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, a document that is currently being supplemented with new topics. Members of the Economic Council can still submit proposals for inclusion in the Roadmap, which serves as a common framework for priority actions to promote women's economic rights and opportunities and ensure gender equality in Moldova. The Secretariat of the Economic Council under Prime Minister is supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development with financial support from the UK Government's Good Governance Fund. // 09.09.2025 - InfoMarket
