
Since the beginning of 2025, the State Tax Service (SFS) has collected 29.6 billion lei for the national public budget, which is 3.7 billion lei (14.1%) more than in the same period last year
According to the weekly report of the State Tax Service, the largest amount of revenue administered by the SFS from January 1 to May 23 was transferred to the state budget – 12.02 billion lei and to the state social insurance budget – 10.65 billion lei, which is 12.4% and 14.3% higher than in the same period last year, respectively. The mandatory health insurance funds accumulated 3.59 billion lei (+16.8%), and revenues to local budgets administered by the SFS amounted to 3.35 billion lei (+16.7%). The State Tax Service report notes that, in particular, from May 19 to 23, revenues to the national public budget administered by the State Tax Service amounted to about 1.8 billion lei. During this period, tax inspectors made 248 visits to 202 taxpayers to encourage voluntary compliance with their obligations. In the last week alone, State Tax Service employees issued 41 decisions on cases of violations of the law, which resulted in additional liabilities to the budget amounting to 13.79 million lei. In addition, as a result of operational control checks, 63 reports of violations were drawn up and fines totaling 79.1 thousand lei were charged. To settle the tax liabilities of taxpayers in arrears, between May 19 and 23, the State Tax Service collected 41.52 million lei through enforcement measures. Over the past week, the State Tax Service also opened 40 cases involving confiscated goods worth 1.23 million lei.
