
Moldova and Slovakia have signed a protocol amending the Convention on avoidance of double taxation between the countries
The document was signed in Bratislava by Moldovan and Slovak Finance Ministers Victoria Belous and Ladislav Kamenický within the official visit of Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean to Slovakia. The parties signed this convention in 2003. According to the Ministry of Finance, the amendments to the Convention between Moldova and Slovakia on Avoidance of Double Taxation and Prevention of Evasion of Income and Property Taxes are aimed at improving bilateral cooperation, stimulating foreign economic activity, attracting new foreign investments and bringing the provisions of the convention in line with the minimum standards BEPS (Base Erosion and Profit Shifting), included in the Model Convention of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) During the visit, Victoria Belous also had a bilateral meeting with her Slovakian counterpart Ladislav Kamenický, during which the sides discussed the need to intensify the dialog and cooperation in the public finance sector.
