The State Tax Service will start accepting requests from resident individuals for refunds of overpaid/ withheld income tax for 2023 from May 1.
As noted in the message of the State Tax Service, the request submitted before the deadline will be considered starting from the next day of the deadline for submission of income tax declaration. Applications for income tax refunds will be considered from May 1 after the completion of April 30 receipt of income tax returns for 2023 from individuals. An exception is the situation when the individual intends to change his/her permanent residence in Moldova, and the application will be examined on the day of its receipt. The individual can request the income tax refund by submitting an application for the refund of the overpaid/underpaid amount by the following methods: electronically, through the service "Electronic Declaration", if the individual has an electronic signature. To submit an application in electronic form it is necessary to go to the section "Application for Refund"; on paper (or through his/her legal representative) in the territorial subdivision of the State Tax Service, where he/she is served. The request must be accompanied by supporting documents in accordance with State Tax Service Order No. 134/2017.
