Ernst & Young Moldova held the 10th annual conference on taxation in Chisinau.

It was organized by EY Moldova in partnership with the European Business Association (EBA). The company's tax specialists provided 140 conference participants with information about the main changes in tax legislation that will impact Moldovan companies in 2024. The conference was attended by both foreign multinational companies with large investments in the local market, as well as local companies, SMEs and entrepreneurs. The topics discussed covered aspects related to the latest changes in legislation regarding: income tax, taxes and salary deductions, income tax withheld at source of payment, VAT, local taxes, as well as features of filling out the income tax return for 2023. Also, for a better understanding of the new transfer pricing rules, EY Moldova experts, with the support of colleagues from Bucharest, provided detailed explanations on the most important cases concerning the new applicable rules, taking into account the recent publication of by-laws regarding the implementation of the transfer pricing rule. The presentations were accompanied by question and answer sessions, during which EY Moldova specialists answered numerous specific questions asked by representatives of participating companies. In addition to EY experts, the conference was attended by important guests from tax authorities - Director of the State Tax Service Olga Golban and Deputy Head of the Main Department of Legal Expertise of the State Tax Service Pavel Dima, who expressed their point of view on new rules and tax trends in Moldova. “The event was a success, during which we were able to communicate with special guests from the State Tax Service, from whom we learned very useful information, as well as convey to the participants the most important news and aspects related to the tax changes introduced in Moldova. At the moment, new legislation in the field of transfer pricing remains a key topic and is of great interest to the Moldovan business community,” said Alexandru Sipitca, senior manager of the Financial Assistance Department at EY Moldova.
