
Legal entities and individuals engaged in entrepreneurial activities must submit an income tax return to the State Tax Service by March 25
The State Tax Service reminded that taxpayers engaged in professional activities, as well as individuals engaged in independent activities, must submit a declaration by March 25. The State Tax Service noted that the declaration can only be submitted through automated electronic reporting methods. It is noted that resident legal entities, with the exception of government bodies and public institutions, resident organizational forms with the status of an individual, persons engaged in professional activities, individuals engaged in independent activities of a permanent establishment of a non-resident in Moldova, are required to file an income tax return regardless of there is an obligation to pay tax. It is noted that the income tax rate for peasant farms is 7%, for small and medium-sized businesses - 4%, and for other categories of taxpayers there is a 12% income tax rate. The State Tax Service noted that starting from the 2023 financial year, enterprises classified as micro, small and medium-sized, in case of non-payment of dividends from profits relating to the periods 2023-2025 inclusive, are exempt from paying income tax until the distribution of profits for the payment of dividends, including in the form of shares or shares of profits received for 2023–2025 inclusive. When distributing dividends from profits received in 2023-2025, the amount of income tax payable will be determined in proportion to the amount of income tax on income received during this period.
