This was stated by Finance Minister Petru Rotaru, speaking in parliament. According to him, the main achievements since the beginning of 2023, especially in terms of budget sustainability, are: an increase in budget revenues by about 6 billion lei compared to last year, representing an increase of 10%. In addition, the mid-term Budget forecast for 2024-2026, fiscal policy for 2024, budget execution reports for 2022 and for the first half of 2023 were approved within the established time frame. State budget expenditures were optimized. By adjusting the budget, the saved amounts were allocated to areas contributing to the country's economic growth: 3.6 billion lei - for investments; 2.2 billion lei - to the Road Fund, 1.4 billion lei - to the Regional and Local Development Fund; 1.7 billion lei - to the Agricultural Subsidy Fund; 338 million lei - for the “373” program through the Organization for Development of Entrepreneurship (ODA). Funds were allocated to increase the salaries of certain categories of public sector employees. External assistance to the state budget amounted to 254 million euros in the form of grants and 710 million euros in the form of preferential loans. A program was signed with the IMF. A new element of the agreement with the IMF is the Resilience and Long-Term Sustainability Fund, from which €160 million will be redirected to regional development, energy efficiency and environmental development. The head of the Ministry of Finance also noted that for the first time on the domestic market, government bonds for a period of 10 years were issued for a total amount of 200 million lei.
