From July 1, 2023, the tax-free limit of goods sent from foreign countries in favor of individuals in Moldova will be reduced from 200 to 150 euros per shipment.
Corresponding changes are provided for in the new Customs Code of Moldova, the entry into force of which, as part of the tax and customs policy measures for the current year, was postponed to July 1. In particular, it is envisaged that consignments of goods sent directly from a foreign country to a recipient in Moldova and containing items with an intrinsic value not exceeding 150 euros per consignment are exempted from import duties. At the same time, in personal luggage from a foreign country, without payment of import duties by air and sea transport, as at present, it will be possible to transport goods with a total value of not more than 430 euros per person, by other transport - no more than 300 euros per person, provided that they are imported for non-commercial purposes. Herewith, the new Customs Code specifies the characteristics of non-commercial imports - the import of goods related to shipments, which in the aggregate meet the following conditions: are episodic; contain goods intended solely for the personal use of the recipient or his family; contain goods which, by their nature or quantity, are not intended for sale; sent by the sender to the recipient without any obligation to pay; consist of goods whose intrinsic value does not exceed 150 euros per consignment.// 10.01.2023 — InfoMarket.
