In 2022, the Customs Service transferred more than 33.8 billion lei to the state budget, which is 18.6% more than in 2021.
In December 2022, the revenues administered by the customs department amounted to 3.4 billion lei, which is 11.2% more than in December 2021. The largest revenues came from the payment of VAT by economic entities, as well as excises and customs duties. At the same time, about 43.5% of excise taxes were provided by the oil products market, 32% - by tobacco products and 17.5% - received from the import of cars. The Customs Service believes that the growth in customs revenues is ensured by improved control, more correct declaration of goods by respectable economic agents, as well as progress made in the fight against customs violations. Another factor was measures to simplify customs procedures and international trade (electronic declaration, authorized economic agent, customs clearance at the location, approved exporter). The CS plans to promote the most effective tools for facilitating international trade in the new year in order to promote the development of the business environment and the country's economy as a whole. // 04.01.2023 — InfoMarket.
