Local tax for Chisinau casinos will increase from 600 thousand to 1 million lei from 1 January 2023.

This is provided for by the published decision of the Chisinau City Council on the approval and implementation of local taxes for 2023. According to the document, most of the local taxes in Chisinau next year will be increased in accordance with the inflation rate for the previous year (about 5.1%). At the same time, the rates of local taxes for some trade and services entities have been increased more substantially. For example, local tax for casinos will increase from 600 thousand to 1 million lei, while for a separate category of electronic casinos (activities in the field of electronic gambling and sports betting through sites) – the tax rate will be 500 thousand lei. The fee from betting halls, including the sale of lottery tickets will increase from 15 thousand to 15.8 thousand lei, the organizers of gaming halls with winnings will pay a fee of 320 thousand lei instead of 300 thousand lei. The fee for gas stations from the New Year will increase from 80 thousand to 84 thousand lei per fuel filling column, while charging stations for electric cars will remain at zero rate. In 2023 the fee rate for organizing auctions and lotteries will be reduced from 0.3% to 0.27% of income from the sale of goods declared at auctions or the amount for which lottery tickets are issued. The tax for owners of dogs will remain at the same level, at 120 lei per animal, as well as the tax for sanitary cleaning - 10 lei per person. There will be raised fees for land improvement - from 165 to 174 lei per year per employee; for placement of advertising - from 5.2% to 5.5% of income from placement and/or distribution of advertising; for use of local symbols - from 0.26% to 0.27% of income from product sales, for parking - from 31 to 33 lei per square meter; for advertising devices - from 775 to 815 lei per year per square meter, for temporary stay - from 3% to 5% of income from service sales. Also a higher market fee is envisaged: for food, agrarian, nonfood and mixed markets the fee will rise from 50 to 53 lei per 1 sq. m. per year; for car markets operating on the outskirts of the city with 1-3 days a week - from 15 to 16 lei per 1 sq. m.; for car markets operating on the city outskirts for 6-7 days a week - from 38 to 40 lei per sq. m.; for car markets operating within the city limits for 1-3 days a week - from 72 to 76 lei per sq. m.; for car markets operating within the city limits for 6-7 days a week - from 87 to 91 lei per sq. m. For flower markets, working round the clock, which are situated on the perimeter of parks of culture and rest, the local tax will increase from 870 to 914 lei per square meter and for other flower markets - from 73 to 77 lei per square meter. The tax rate for "second hand" markets will increase from 19 to 20 lei per 1 sq. m. According to the decision of the City Council, starting from 2023, besides the already existing beneficiaries, the exemption from local taxes will be offered to beneficiaries of the municipal program "Start for youth and migrants", as well as micro-enterprises from the mining and processing sector, and enterprises for production and supply of heating and electricity, gas, hot water and air conditioning, with a number of employees up to 5 people. //23.12.2022 - InfoMarket.
