Livestock enterprises and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises will receive 100% compensation of excise duty on diesel fuel used in 2022.

The rest of the agricultural enterprises will be compensated 30% of the expenses on the payment of excise duty on diesel fuel. The amendments envisage the way the National Fund for Agricultural and Rural Development will distribute means for partial compensation of excise duty on diesel fuel used by agrarians in 2022. The changes were published in Monitorul Oficial (the Official Journal of Moldova) and took effect on July 8. Thus, micro, small and medium sized enterprises and enterprises of the livestock sector will receive compensation totaling 2980 lei per ton of used diesel fuel and the rest – 894 lei per ton. The government has also doubled the maximum amount of compensation per beneficiary from 100 thousand to 200 thousand lei per year and increased from 200 million to 320 million lei the expenses for compensating the excise tax on diesel fuel envisaged from the National Fund for Agricultural and Rural Development. At the same time, the deadline for granting compensations has been extended, starting from January 1, 2022, according to tax invoices, and not April 29, as it was stipulated earlier. Farmers will be able to apply for compensation throughout the year, but no more than once every six months. Farmers can request compensation only on the basis of tax invoices issued in the half year in which they apply for compensation, in accordance with approved periods: I half-year - from January 1 to June 30, and II half-year - from July 1 to November 15. Farmers who submit an application for compensation for the period after April 29 will be able to attach to the application tax bills, confirming the use of diesel fuel for the period from January 1 of this year. According to the regulation, the deadline for submitting an application for compensation for the diesel fuel consumed in the first half of the year expires on August 15, for the second half of the year - on November 15. // 08.07.2022 - InfoMarket
