This was discussed during a meeting that Finance Minister Victoria Belous held with Robert Saum, the World Bank's Regional Director for Eastern Europe to discuss cooperation priorities for the near future and the World Bank's contribution to Moldova's economic development. According to the Ministry of Finance, the meeting covered macroeconomic trends and fiscal and tax policy for the coming year, as well as measures needed to continue reforms, improve the efficiency of government spending, and modernize the public sector wage system. Particular attention was paid to accelerating reforms already underway and implementing projects supported by the World Bank. The parties also discussed technical assistance and financing opportunities for new projects, with a view to 2027, in areas such as infrastructure, energy, and water supply. In addition, they discussed results-oriented programs aimed at the efficient use of resources and delivering tangible benefits to citizens. Victoria Belous highly commended the World Bank's ongoing support for Moldova in implementing its development and reform agenda, noting that strengthening cooperation and drawing on the experience of development partners are crucial for economic growth and advancing the country's path toward European integration.
