The event was attended by 193 children from the “Soccer in Schools” program, developed by the Moldovan Football Federation with the support of Orange Moldova as the main partner, as well as 86 parents from six districts of the Republic of Moldova.

What is #ForGoodConnections Day?

#ForGoodConnections Day is part of the international #ForGoodConnections initiative launched by Orange to promote healthy and responsible digital behavior among children. At the Group level, the initiative reflects Orange’s role as a responsible operator and aims to foster healthy digital habits, reduce excessive screen time, and combat cyberbullying.

How did #ForGoodConnections Day 2026 go?

This year’s event was based on a simple idea: it’s important for children to confidently explore the online world while still making room for play and offline activities. For the first time, the event included a component dedicated to parents, so that discussions about digital safety could continue at home—through dialogue and mindful attention to how children use technology.

The children took part in two main educational activities. The digital education workshop translated online behavior patterns into a practical format, where participants could see how certain actions spread, how peer pressure arises, and what role intervention can play in a difficult situation.

As part of the D-Click Game, the children analyzed scenarios inspired by real-life situations in the digital world, addressing topics such as screen time, inappropriate content, fake news, cyberbullying, privacy, and personal data protection.

Thanks to these interactive activities, the children gained a better understanding of the consequences of their own actions in the online environment and the importance of responsible behavior both in the digital space and in offline interactions.

#ForGoodConnections Day 2026, the second edition of the event in this format in Moldova, included parents as an active part of the educational process for the first time. This approach strengthens the educational component of the program and extends its impact to the family environment, where a significant portion of children’s digital habits are formed.

At the same time, parents participated in a workshop titled “Parenting in the Digital Age,” led by psychologist and psychotherapist Sergiu Toma, Executive Director of the Institute for Family and Social Initiatives (IFIS). The session focused on an open dialogue about the digital environment, the balance between supervision and independence, the prevention of digital addiction, and the identification of risky behavior, with an emphasis on the role of parents in fostering healthy digital habits in children.

“Today, children have two playgrounds: one where a ball brings teams together, and another where every click demands attention. The #ForGoodConnections initiative launched in the Republic of Moldova last year and continues in 2026 as part of Orange’s commitment to fostering healthy relationships between children and technology. It’s important for children to explore the online world with confidence, while still making room for play and time away from screens. Continuity is important to us. Orange provides access to technology, and that access must be accompanied by education and balance.”

The event was organized by Orange Moldova in collaboration with the Moldovan Football Federation, which supported the participation of children from the “Football in Schools” program network. Ion Poalelungi, Vice President of the Moldovan Football Federation, who attended the event, spoke about how sports help children develop discipline and interact more effectively with one another.

The event was also attended by sports ambassadors supported by the National Teams Training Center: Irina Rîngaci, a freestyle wrestler and multiple world and European champion; Andreea Stăvilă, a track and field athlete who has competed in national and international competitions, and Alexandru Solovei, a freestyle wrestler who has competed in international and regional competitions.

The ambassadors’ role was to inspire the younger generation by promoting discipline, responsibility, and the importance of following the rules. They interacted with the children and talked to them about the importance of making the right decisions—both in sports and in the digital world.

Volunteers from Orange Moldova were also involved in organizing the activities as part of the company’s internal volunteer program, “Ne Pasă.” They helped run games and workshops, providing support to the children throughout the day.

Orange is implementing the #ForGoodConnections initiative in more than 25 countries across Europe and Africa. By 2025, the program had reached more than 16,000 children aged 11 to 14, along with their families. In the Republic of Moldova, the initiative was launched last year, after which Orange volunteers, in partnership with the Moldovan Football Federation, visited 15 schools across the country, where more than 350 children participated in interactive sessions on digital education and CyberSec.

Through #ForGoodConnections, Orange Moldova continues to promote the responsible use of technology and create formats in which children learn, through hands-on experience, to be more mindful, protected, and balanced in their interactions with the digital world.
