According to Dan Perciun, Minister of Education and Research, in the capital's kindergartens Nos. 197, 103, 174, and 150 are scheduled to be renovated and equipped with nursery groups for children under 3 years of age, which will create additional spots in early childhood education facilities and make it easier for parents to return to the workforce. The investment in each kindergarten is estimated at approximately 2.27 million lei. The facilities will be adapted to the needs of young children by equipping areas for activities, rest, and hygiene in accordance with safety requirements. Proposals from companies bidding to carry out the work are currently being evaluated; once the procurement procedures are completed, renovations will begin. The kindergartens in Chișinău are part of a larger project to modernize 15 nursery groups nationwide. The work will be funded under the "Enhancing the Quality of Education" (EQIP) project, implemented by the Ministry of Education and Research with financial support from the World Bank. It is worth noting that by the end of 2027, the government intends to create approximately 5,000 new spots in daycare centers. The initiative is being implemented as part of the "Public Daycare Services—Working Parents, Children in Daycare" program, which is linked to Moldova's Economic Growth Plan, and aims to expand services for children under 3 years of age and create conditions for their parents to return to the labor market. // 18.08.2026 — InfoMarket.
