The Moldovan government has approved the ratification of a letter amending the loan agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), implemented as part of the “RLF – Emergency Response – Moldovan Railways” project. The amendments provide for the financing of consulting services for the rehabilitation of the Velchinets–Ocnita–Balti–Ungheni–Chisinau–Cainari railway section using funds already available under the loan, without drawing down the third tranche. This will allow Moldova to forgo the third loan tranche and avoid paying a one-time fee of 182,500 euros, thereby improving the efficiency of project fund utilization. // July 22, 2026 – InfoMarket.
