The industry ministry reported this, noting that the country’s industrial sector continues to grow and is showing resilience. From January through May, industrial output was 7.2% higher than during the same period last year. This growth was driven, in particular, by the following sectors: manufacturing—6.3%; energy and power supply—13.9%. The most dynamic growth during this period was seen in the following manufacturing sectors: metal structures—50.1%; food processing—13.7%; textile manufacturing—12.7%; and footwear and handbag manufacturing—11.9%. At the same time, significant results were achieved in the capital goods sector (+17.8%) and the energy sector (+13.3%), while the positive trend was supported by growth in the Central region (+8.4%), the Northern Region (+6.2%), and Chisinau (+6.1%). “These results confirm that industry remains a key pillar of the national economy, contributing to economic development, the creation of added value, and the strengthening of Moldova’s competitiveness,” emphasized the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization. // July 22, 2026 – InfoMarket.
