This was reported by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development and the National Road Administration, which noted that this has provided more comfortable and safer conditions for motorists. Work was carried out on the section between the 9.39-meter and 31.30-meter marks of this route, on four sections of National Road R3 with a total length of approximately 22 km, located near the towns of Hîncești, Fundul Galbeni, Bardar, Pojăreni, Sociteni, and Ialoveni. Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea inspected the progress of work on the R3 highway and reviewed the results of the reconstruction of the intersection of the R3 and G71 roads. On the repaired sections, the road surface was restored, the shoulders were reinforced, and road markings were applied. In addition, to improve traffic safety at the intersection of the R3 highway and regional road G71, a temporary roundabout was constructed and street lighting was installed. Between 2021 and 2025, 11 traffic accidents occurred at this intersection, primarily side-impact collisions. "The R3 highway is a key artery connecting Chișinău with the central and southern regions of the country. People need a road on which they can travel safely and comfortably. We carried out work both to resurface the road and to eliminate hazardous sections where traffic flow posed risks to drivers. We will continue work on national highways wherever necessary to ensure public safety and mobility," said Vladimir Bolea. The project was divided into four lots. Work began in June 2026. The total value of the contracts for the four lots amounted to approximately 132.6 million lei. Funding was provided by the Road Fund. // 08.10.2026 – InfoMarket.
