According to the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA), specifically, the expert mission, which included a final self-assessment, took place from October 26 to 30 and represented an important step in the Agency's preparation to manage European funding for agriculture and rural development. The mission provided an opportunity for a comprehensive analysis of AIPA's readiness to meet accreditation requirements by examining the institutional processes, control mechanisms, and administrative and technical capabilities necessary for managing European funding. At the same time, the discussions helped identify areas requiring additional attention to ensure compliance with European Union requirements. Among the recommendations made by the experts during the project were the allocation of additional human resources and ensuring the full operation of the Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS) in full, which is a prerequisite for AIPA's certification as an EU fund disbursing agency. At the same time, the importance of the ISO 27001 standard was noted, particularly in light of the fact that having a cybersecurity unit as part of AIPA is mandatory. A central focus of the agenda was the self-assessment of compliance with accreditation criteria, as well as the recommendations formulated during previous missions. Control measures were analyzed, in particular the described internal procedures, checklists, audit trail, accounting and reporting, as well as the IT component. AIPA's accreditation as a paying agency represents an important step on Moldova's path toward European integration. In this context, AIPA continues its efforts toward institutional consolidation and the alignment of financial management processes with European Union standards to ensure an effective and transparent system of financial support for farmers. // 30.10.2026 — InfoMarket
