Moldova to announce a new tender for the lease of commercial premises in the Duty Free zone of Chisinau Airport.
Chisinau Airport administration reported this, noting that additional information and its calendar will be presented in the near future. According to the report, on April 15, the deadline for submitting applications for participation in the auction for the right to manage unused assets, commercial premises at Chisinau airport, intended for catering services and specialized trade in the public sterile zone Travel Retail & Food and Beverages, expired and only 1 application was received from the company Lagardere Travel Retail. In accordance with the steps of the procedure, the tender committee met on April 16 to review Lagardere Travel Retail's dossier. As noted by the capital airport, after having studied the materials submitted by the participating company concerning the qualification conditions, the members of the tender commission found that Lagardere Travel Retail did not submit all supporting documents to pass to the final stage. Thus, the auction process for the lease of the unutilized property for the Travel Retail & Food and Beverages operations was halted. "Next, we will announce when the auction will resume and will provide further information and a calendar for the auction shortly. At the same time, in the new auction process, we will analyze how we can improve the process of attracting as many international companies with reputation as possible who want to participate in the auction and invest in Chisinau airport," the capital's airport said in a statement. As it was reported earlier, only 2 companies - LeBridge and Lagardere - applied for the first tender announced for the lease of commercial areas for catering and specialized trade for the sterile zone, Duty Free zone, in the premises of Chisinau airport. The Public Property Agency and the capital's airport informed that due to the lack of sufficient competition, as well as some shortcomings in the process of organizing the auction, it was decided to hold a new tender. At the same time, between March 11 and March 25, Lagardere Travel Retail was the only company that submitted a dossier to participate in the new tender. Therefore, the tender commission decided to extend the deadline for submitting applications for participation in the tender until April 15. // 17.04.2024 - InfoMarket.
