A new tender has been announced in Moldova for the lease of unused commercial space at the Duty Free Chisinau Airport.
In particular, Chisinau Airport announced the launch of a new tender for the lease of unused assets for a period of 3 years, intended for the activities of Travel Retail & Food and Beverages. Assets owned by the state will be auctioned in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations on Hammer and lowering Auctions and the Regulations on the Procedure for Leasing Unused Assets. The information message will be published in the Monitorul Oficial on March 8. According to the calendar, applications and submitted supporting documents (determining/confirming the eligibility of participants) are accepted on March 26-28, and the auction itself will take place on March 29, when its final results are planned to be announced. The contract with the winner of the tender is scheduled to be signed by April 8. Currently, 17 airlines operate charter and scheduled flights to/from Chisinau Airport to 39 destinations around the world. From March 27, 2023, by order of the Public Property Agency, tangible assets, including commercial premises, and lands related to the Chisinau Airport were transferred to the Chisinau International Airport State Enterprise. It is planned that the passenger traffic of Chisinau Airport will grow annually and will amount to 3 million in 2024, 3.4 million in 2025, 4 million in 2026 and 4.5 million in 2027. For the announced tender as a single lot the exhibited premises are located in the sterile and common area of the airport terminal, the express lounge and the airport grounds (Travel Retail store, restaurant, cafe, business lounge, storage facilities, canteen) - a total of 11 units, with a total area of 5151.8 sq. m. The rent is established in accordance with Appendix 9 of the Law on the State Budget for 2024. Thus, the starting amount of the monthly rent for 11 premises for rent is 154615.9 euros per month excluding VAT. The rental price is based on the condition that the airport carries 2.8 million passengers. For every increase in passenger traffic by 100 thousand, the annual rent for the calendar year will increase by 2% annually, and in the event of a decrease in passenger traffic, the rent will remain unchanged.
