Moldovan government amended its previous decrees on the implementation of customs policies for 2024.

According to the Ministry of Finance, these amendments were made due to the need to develop a secondary regulatory framework for the application of the new Customs Code. Given the provisions of this code, the government is authorized to regulate the processes and procedures for the application of its provisions, which are to come into force on January 1, 2024, as a result of the abolition of the previous Customs Code, the Law on Customs Tariff, etc. The Ministry of Finance pointed out that, accordingly, the Cabinet's approval of the proposed amendments will ensure that the provisions of the government resolution on the implementation of the Customs Code will be linked to the latest amendments made to the Customs Code. Also, the government's decision was conditioned by the need to technically adjust the Regulation on the implementation of the Customs Code and its annexes, due to the shortcomings identified in the process of elaborating the normative acts approved by the Finance Ministry and the Customs Service. // 29.12.2023 – InfoMarket
