According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, in the national economy, the average gross salary in the first half of 2023 increased by 18.7% in nominal terms compared to the same period last year. At the same time, in real terms the average salary decreased by 1.3%. In the budget system, the average monthly salary amounted to 9994.2 lei, which is 18.3% more in nominal terms and 1.6% less in real terms compared to the first half of 2022. In the real sector of the economy in the first half of 2023 compared to the same period last year, the average salary increased by 18.7% in nominal terms, but decreased by 1.3% in real terms, amounting to 12472 lei. Salaries above average in Moldova in January-June 2023 were received by workers in the ICT sector - 30183 lei, in the finance and insurance sector - 23209 lei, in the professional, scientific and technical sector - 13687 lei, in the public administration sector - 13056 lei, systems health and social protection – 12853 lei. Herewith wages in industry remain below the national average - 10627 lei, in trade - 10564 lei, in transport and warehousing - 10564 lei, in construction - 9992 lei, in education - 9762 lei, in the field of real estate transactions - 9437 lei, in the field of organizing recreation and entertainment - 8817 lei. The lowest salaries in January-June 2023 were received by workers in agriculture, forestry and fish farming. Meanwhile, according to the Ministry of Economy, the average pension in Moldova as of July 1, 2023 amounted to 3664.9 lei, an increase of 17% in nominal terms compared to the same period last year.
