The Interreg NEXT Romania-Moldova program for the period up to 2027 will be officially launched in Iasi on 17 May.

This was announced by the Ministry of Finance of Moldova, noting that the purpose of this event is to inform interested parties about the existence of European funding intended for the development of communities on the border of the two participating states. The launch event of the Interreg NEXT Romania-Moldova program will be attended by Minister of Finance Veronica Sireteanu, Minister of Development, Public Works and Administration of Romania Cseke Attila, a representative of the European Commission, as well as representatives of the central and local authorities of Moldova and Romania, program management structures, program monitoring committee, etc. After the launch of the program in May, Moldova will host the following events: Partner Forum in Chisinau - May 23, Information session in Balti - May 25, Information session in Chisinau - May 30. The total budget of the Interreg NEXT Romania-Moldova program for the period up to 2027 is 85.9 million euros, including 10% beneficiary co-financing. As previously announced, the Interreg NEXT Romania-Moldova program through 2027 will fund projects that will benefit communities on both sides of the border, including the entire territory of Moldova, to improve education, health and nature conservation. The program will invest in disaster risk prevention and resilience, education and training, and biodiversity conservation, contributing to the economic development of local communities. The medical sector will also be funded through investments in infrastructure and new modern medical equipment. The program will also invest in tourism and culture, improving access to historical sites in the area. The implementation of Interreg NEXT Romania-Moldova began with the establishment of the Monitoring Committee and the approval of the program methodology.
