
In 2022, the average wage in Moldova increased by 15.5% in nominal terms, while taking into account inflation - decreased by 10.3%.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, at the end of 2022, the average monthly salary in the real sector enterprises with 4 or more employees and in all budget-funded institutions was 10,529.1 lei. At the same time, in the 4th quarter of 2022, the average wage in Moldova amounted to 11,539.1 lei, up 18.1% in nominal terms compared to the same period in 2021, but down10.6% in real terms, adjusted for inflation. In the fourth quarter of 2022, the average salary in the budget sector was 9,894.8 lei (+20.1% compared to the same period of 2021), and in the real economy - 12,129 lei (+17.5%). The highest salaries in October-December 2022 were received by employees of the ICT sector - an average of 28,730.4 lei (+28.6% compared to the same period in 2021), financial and insurance sector - with an average of 28,730.4 lei (+20.6% compared to the same period in 2021), financial and insurance sector - 22,940.9 lei (+22.9%), electricity, gas, water, air conditioning companies - 16,230 lei (+15.2%), specialists in science and technology - 14,311.8 lei (+15.9%), state administration and defense, compulsory social insurance - 13,330.1 lei (+20.2%), health and social security system - 12,863.8 lei (+6%). The lowest salaries remain in the sector of tourist accommodation and catering – 7,370.7 lei (+28.8%), agriculture, forestry and fishing – 7,709.4 lei (+12.5%), art, recreation and entertainment – 8,312.4 lei (+20.4%), administrative services and support activities – 8,448.2 lei (+16.2%), real estate operations – 8,859.6 lei (+14.1%). In the fourth quarter of 2022 the average salary of employees in transportation and warehousing services amounted to 9,999.7 lei (+27.7%); in education - 9,418.7 lei (+20.3%); in construction - 10,051.4 lei (+14.5%); in trade, machine and motorcycle repair - 10,128.3 lei (+15%). In the industrial sector, salaries averaged 10,315.5 lei (+15.2%), including 9,698.7 lei (+16.1%) in the processing industry; in water supply, sewerage, waste treatment and recycling enterprises - 9,036.2 lei (+4.7%); in the extractive industry - 9,422.7 lei (+9.4%), and the highest was in enterprises engaged in the production and supply of electricity, gas, water and air conditioning - 16,230 lei (+15.2%).// 02.03.2023 - InfoMarket
